The three most common types of blood oranges are the Tarocco (native to Italy), the Sanguinello (native to Spain), and the Moro, the newest variety of the three.

Generally blood oranges can be used just as you’d use regular oranges but they’re especially good in juices, cocktails, salads, sauces, sorbets, granitas, compotes and marmalades.
