Champagne asparagus

With its tender flavour and strong aroma, which comes from the soil in which it is grown, asparagus is an outstanding product.

Asparagus has been grown in Champagne since the 18th Century.

This spring vegetable should ideally be enjoyed in April.

This fresh product is reputed for heralding the onset of warm weather. It is therefore a link between the cold of the end of winter and the warmth of spring, with its tender flavour and strong aroma, which comes from the Champagne soil.

Asparagus grows beneath the soil, in the dark. Protected from the sun, it retains its iridescent colour.

It is mainly enjoyed on festive occasions, as a starter or side dish. Asparagus recipes are varied: they may be steamed or in a pan, but why not try them pan-fried or oven-baked.

For many people, Champagne asparagus is the most delicate, flavourful variety.

Asparagus has health-giving properties.

Diuretic, rich in water and vitamins, it should be enjoyed without moderation, preferably in season.
